Happy little Stampers - Water colour challenge, January

Hi.. Here I am with my first post for 2020. I am joining Happy Little Stampers for next term. I am sharing my water colour card here.
You can join our challenge by clicking here.

Here is my take on the challenge

I was hoarding this die set from Altenew so thought of putting it into use. Fist I die cut all layers in white card stock. Then i applied light wash of water colours, kept applying colours till I was satisfied. I left them air dry, added few spritz of water to add texture.
To define edges I ran a green ink pad over the card edges and the die cut. I stamped sentiment on he die cut and foam mounted it on the card base towards upper right side of card base. Then glued my floral arrangement on the card base. Added clear droplet to the card.

Love the effect from water droplets.

Love how defined edges add dimension to the otherwise simple die cut.

Using scraps - Love you card

Hi..

Over the time i collected considerable amount of scrap papers.
So thought of making use of them and make a card.
The focal element of the card was a strip of paper which was actually a left out card stack n then i had die cut few heart for another card from that.

I secured the panel on to working surface with re positional adhesive and applied distress inks. Then pasted it on to the card front with liquid glue ( which will allow me to move around the panel a little bit ). Felt the heart shapes are too blank so i stamped the letters in each heart and added sequins of respective colours in each heart. I stamped YOU at the end to finish the card.

Here is the card...

Penny black - Thinking of you

Hi...

I have collected so many stamps over the time but have not used few/many of them. This is one such set. I loved it a lot so bought but couldnt use it. So i took it out n tried and off course I thought of trying water colour.

Few months back a friend of mine gifted me water colour sheets (which have colour pigment on paper) which i had not tried yet, so using those colours.

I had something in mind, so i created mask for the entire colouring piece (i.e two overlapped squares) I heat embossed the flower masked it , embossed leaves also. Coloured the flowers and leaves. Then cut the coloured piece , matted it on a black piece of paper. Heat embossed sentiment from same stamp set.

For the background i stamped same flower and leaf images repeated with SSS fog ink. Adhered a black strip of paper on one side with foam tape and on other side the matted coloured piece. Trimmed the sentiment piece and adhered it with foam tape too. Added few sequins here n there.

Closer look of water coloured piece..

Simple almost ONE LAYER CARD

Hi...

Friends...

I made this simple card. Its almost a one layer card.
I used white 4.5x7" top folding card.

I die cut from a grey card stock and used SSS die for that. With the same die i die cut another heart from red card stock.
Then i pasted this die cut on the card front with liquid adhesive. Its bit tricky to adhere this delicate die cut so, i used the negative to position the die cut properly and accurately ( hope its straight). Then i pasted the red heart and stamped the message with archival black ink.

The sentiment was two line but i wanted it to be spaced more. So i first masked the first line with masking tape, inked the sentiment, removed the tape and then stamped. In same way stamped the above line, i also had few small die cut tiny dots and adhered them on bot sides of the sentiment.

And the card is ready.

I am entering this card for Freshly Made Sketch 200 celebration .

Hope you ppl liked it.

Magic card

Hi...

Friends..
Today's card is little bit different.
I thought of doing something for my niece but was not having any stamp which attracts kids.
Then thought of making interactive card. This I had seen long ago on pintrest.
I will try best to put the procedure in words ( I am sorry if doesn't make sense) along with pictures. I am not giving exact measurements of the paper. If you want then let me know.
I apologise for such a lengthy post.

The required materials

A colour cardstock, Black ink, Light colour ink, Shape die of your choice, Stamp a magig, White card stock, OHP sheet, Stamps of your choice, Red tape or any tape adhesive of your choice.
I am using red tape so that its visible in pictures.

Pic 1

Cutting the papers

Start from the innermost layer so it helps in assembling.
You need to cut a white cardstock and OHP sheet of the exact same measurements. These are the pieces on which you are going to stamp. Next a white card stock of double the length and 2cm wider than the previously cut paper. Need a small strip of paper which is wider than these two papers.
The colour card stock should be bigger atleast 3cm from all sides. ( Dont go less than this)

Centre layer

Pic 2

Stamp the image of your choice (preferably which can be coloured) on the white CS and OHP sheet so that when you place stamped OHP sheet on stamped paper it matches exactly and looks like one image. Then colour the image, place the OHP sheet and put a small dot of adhesive or you can staple it so that they wont shift. Then paste a piece of paper to cover the adhesive or staple pin. See picture

Pic 3

Paste a red tape on back of this panel. Try to be as close to the bottom as possible.
If you are using tape runner then DONT apply glue now. Its only when you are using double sided tape.

Pic 4

Middle and outer layer

Fold the middle layer at the centre and make a slit as shown in the picture. The slit should just wide enough so that the coloured panel can slide through it easily. ( dont make it too small or too big)
Apply red tape on one side and keep it ready.

Pic 5

Preparing the main outer layer

Score and Fold the main panel at the middle. First decorate the front as you wish. Cut at the open ends of paper (with punch, die or with scissors) for finger space. Die cut a window ( you can cut with ruler simple shapes circle, square) on one side. Keep in mind that the open end is the top of the card. Check that the words are not upside down.

Pic 6

All Elements of the card

Put red tape on two sides of the main panel. Now you are ready with the all elements as you can see in the picture bellow.

PLEASE see where the red tape has been put.
Now onwards keep that test stamp on inner portion of main panel (its done intentionally) which might make sense of what I am trying to tell. ;)

Pic 7

Slider mechanism step 1

Here you are going to attach outer and middle panels. You can do the 2nd step first, i found this is easy for me. Place the white panel like this remove backing from white panel only and close the main panel.

Pic 8

After this the panel looks like this.

Note that the red tape on main panel is still with backing. Don't remove it until the last step.

Pic 9

Slider mechanism Step 2

Now its time to place the coloured panel and OHP sheet. Rotate the panel so that its easy to work with. (Sorry for confusion).

Slide this coloured panel and OHP sheet combo in such a way that the paper slides IN and transparency slides on top.

Pic 10

Now attach the strip of paper on back of this combo. This panel had red tape. See Pic 4

Pic 11

Now turn it back, remove backing from main panel and close it.
See to it that the edges are matched perfectly. If you feel its bulky then you can use foam tape instead of red tape (only on main panel)

Pic 12

Now the card is ready. I made a small ribbon with same paper and adhered it on top of combo. Made a matching envelope.

Pic 13

Suggestions are always welcome. If any query please comment bellow. I made a short video how the card works and the link is bellow.

Sunburst Mini Album

Hi... Friends...

This is my post for this week... Its a mini album... With this I am attaching a link from where i got inspired... Hope you all like it...

I made it few days back on request of a friend for his friend. Its accordion (I think so) style album. Sorry if it’s not because I just make whatever I like without knowledge of terms.
I used black, cream and khaki colour card stocks. It is 18cm x 10cm album. I made the rim or the mechanism to hold tags with khaki and cream colour card stock and distressed them lightly. The outer cover was made with chip board and covered it with black card stock, then glued the tag holder to it and kept aside to dry.

I cut 12 pieces of 16x8.5cm for tags. As i don’t have tag die i used lawn fawn circle die to cut top portion of paper to keep it uniform, then distressed with distress ink. For added interest i dry embossed the lower portion of the tag with sizzix ‘thank you’ embossing folder.

I used sentiments from Penny Black, stamped them with memento ink and cut them out, distressed with distress ink and added a coat of clear UTEE. Flowers are from SSS Summer garden, stamped, cut and distressed the flowers, after drying applied a coat of ranger coracle paint and sprinkled rock candy glitter to the centre.

The sentiments were popped with foam tape and flowers were glued at the top of tags.
The outer cover was embellished with heat embossed heart image from hero arts. The closure was kept simple with a thread and a small butterfly.

Made one black tag to paste a photo of the couple.

Here is the link from where i got inspire to create this album.

I hope you liked the album..
